- Would you like your name to be forever remain on a plague as a Legacy Farm Supporter of the 2011 WI Farm Technhology Days in Marathon County?
- Would you like to show your support for the Marathon County Agricultural Community?
If you answered yes to all three of the questions above, here's how you can get involved:
The 2011 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days – Marathon County leadership would like to give you this opportunity. Your farm operation’s name or your name will forever remain on a plaque as a Legacy Farm supporter of the 2011 WI Farm Technology Days in Marathon County. The plaque will be permanently displayed at the Historical Farm Museum at Marathon Park. Your farm will become a piece of Marathon County history!
Over two years ago, a group of enthusiastic agriculture promoters in Marathon County began making plans to highlight Marathon County’s premiere industry – agriculture – by hosting the largest agricultural show of the year in Wisconsin. Seehafer Acres, a picture perfect modern dairy and crop farm near Marshfield, was selected as the host farm July 12 – 14, 2011. The show features farm tours along with field demonstrations, a trade show, entertainment and educational programs for consumers, producers, and children.
Approximately 80,000 visitors are expected to attend over the three days. Putting on a huge show like this takes a concerted effort and coordination of resources, and a successful show relies on help from hundreds of volunteers, sponsors and Legacy Farm supporters. For additional information about the show or if you would like to volunteer your time at the show, click here.
What benefits will you receive as a Legacy Farm?
To become a legacy farmer, you will receive even more than just everlasting recognition. For your $300 donation to the show, you will receive:
- Permanent listing on commemorative plaque in the Historical Farm Museum
- (1) 2011 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days Collectible Toy Tractor: An IH544. This tractor has never before been designed to a toy scale until now! The tractor features a 2-Point mounted sickle mower.
- A special edition embroidered Marathon County Legacy Farm hat.
- Recognition at the 2011 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days – Marathon County show.
- Recognition on the Wisconsin Farm Technology Days – Marathon County Web Site.
- Official Legacy Farm certificate, with special presentation at the 2011 WI Farm Technology Days Volunteer Appreciate Dinner.
How can you get involved?
To become a legacy farmer and get your name on a plaque all you have to do is send a minimum donation of $300 to the Wisconsin Farm Technology Days – Marathon County. Your money will go towards putting on a successful show, with the proceeds of the show going back into the Marathon County agricultural community. Last time Marathon County hosted the show, the proceeds went to:
- Build and renovate handicap accessibility to the Youth Building, now known as East Gate Hall, in Marathon Park
- Fund scholarships for Marathon County youth, pursuing a secondary education
- The Athens Agricultural Improvement Society to help pay off the remainder of a bank note for the construction of a shelter built over the show ring.
If you would like to become a legacy farmer, fill out and send back the Contribution Form. If you would like more information about the program, please contact any member of the Hospitality/Fundraising Committee. Thank you for your support of the Marathon County Agricultural community!
